The quality of our products is recognized in Europe, they say in the company “Laks”

Fish farm “Laks export-import” from Mostar achieved a great business success by exporting its first fish shipment to the Swiss market.

“Exporting into the European Union is not easy, but thanks to our experience and good organization, everything went without any issues. Our fish is health inspected and produced according to EU standards. We are proud that our fish from Herzegovina will be available in markets in Switzerland”, said the company's owner Dževad Handžar.

The Swiss company “Mago Swiss” led by director Mario Vrbat in Mostar has previously inspected the capacities and the company's headquarters who got the right of export into the EU market among the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We are among the first in BiH to get the exporting rights, which shows how much the quality of our products has been recognized in Europe. We need the help of the state for that too”, explains the director of “Laks” Tanja Handžar.

“Laks” fish farm is located on the Buna river, getting its water from the first 100 meters of this crystal clear river. This is why this farm gets large quantities of natural food, making the quality of fish much higher than on farms that don't enjoy these conditions.

“Customers in Switzerland can buy an excellent product from Herzegovina as of today. We have exported our freshly cleaned California trout of red and white meat, fillets of red trout and carp”, explains Emira Biserović, technologist in manufacturing.

The quality of fish produced in “Laks” has been recognized in Europe in 2008 when this brand from Bosnia and Herzegovina got the necessary license to export to the EU. Its trout quality has been recognized by one of the largest fish markets in Europe, located in Milan, and categorized as wild fish, living in exceptionally clear waters and feeding almost exclusively on natural food.
